Hello, welcome to my artistic adventures.
A little about me to get our relationship started.
I’m actually semi-retired, but am actively interested in a wide range of subjects as the mood takes me. My journey has been one of enjoying art and the natural world around us.
I was fortunate to be brought up in country and coastal regions of the UK. Spending much of my time exploring our coasts, cliffs, fields, streams, ponds and woodlands helped form my love of nature. I developed a love and affinity with the outdoors as well as a respect for all things in the natural world.
As I became a teenager, I enjoyed helping out on our local farm. Learning to drive and reverse tractors and trailers, help with cultivating and harvesting as well as dealing with livestock. A father who was keenly interested and taught gardening continued my education about the varied plants and wildlife. This love of the outdoors however meant that my school studies were often rushed or missed.
It became obvious (to me) that my talents were more directed towards artistic and practical projects than to maths, physics or chemistry. Sadly the school system in those days did not really recognise this. I was lucky to have the opportunity to enjoy art, woodwork and metalwork lessons at school. These no doubt helped to form a grounding for my practical skills in later life.
